Hi, I’m Maxfield Haubrich and I was a sound editor and music-writer for Bear’s Frolic. Several months ago I was given the privilege of working on this project and since then it has truly been a tremendous journey! Before my very eyes, the film has transformed from a project that needed some fixes to a fantastic audiovisual production. I can safely say I’ve never worked on anything like this before–it’s the largest film project I’ve edited so far!  Bear’s Frolic represented a unique challenge to me as I adjusted sound not just for specific scenes, but the film as a whole. I’ve come to realize that this macro-viewpoint is essential to telling a cohesive narrative and makes the emotional pull of the characters come to life! Some of my favorite scenes take place by a creek and are a prime example of this–although they do not take place consecutively, they have to remain consistent with one another; and the aural consistency makes the production feel grounded.

Additionally, I would be remiss if I did not mention the director, Brooksen. She has an expertise and passion that shine through in her work. Through every step of our journey she was able to guide me in her vision for the film.  I would also like to thank Stephen Lukaszewski who likewise contributed to our journey as a sound editor. His wisdom and knowledge were unmatched in the process.

Finally, I’d like to thank you too for your interest in our project.  I hope you enjoy the journey just as much as we did!
